The Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement
Supervisors Chavez and Dave Cortese led the 2018 effort to create this office. Its mission is to advance labor standards through thoughtful community and business engagement, strategic enforcement, innovation and study, and policy development with a commitment to social justice. The three areas of focus of the office are Enforcement and Regulation, Outreach and Education, and Research and Policy
Community Health Business Engagement Team (CHBET)
This team of county and community workers that was created in response to a referral by Supervisor Chavez has conducted outreach to hundreds of businesses to offer technical assistance and resources for the businesses to comply with the County’s health orders and continue to operate safely during the pandemic.
